Rev. Joe Miles might be the sweetest person I’ve ever met. He was easy to work with, let us customize our ceremony, and made very helpful suggestions. He charmed all our guests, and we couldn’t have been happier with the ceremony.
Rev Joe Miles was outstanding. He has an amazing vibe, and spoke so beautifully at our ceremony. He even had a gift for us, but was unable to bring it to the ceremony so on his own time came to our hotel to bring it to us. Anyone would be lucky and blessed to have him be apart of their wedding!
Joe was perfect in every way. We could tell he truly cared about my husband and I’s ceremony – it was romantic and heartfelt! Coming from out of town the day before our wedding he was also very reliable and I had no worries about whether he would be there for our 7am beach ceremony :). What an amazing elopement wedding ceremony performed by Rev. Joe. He was so kind and easy to work with. He was delighted that I wanted to write our vows and ceremony. He worked with us to incorporate the traditional Hawaiian wedding chant, conch shell and lei exchange. We were so happy to have found him and wouldn’t change a thing about our ceremony. He is a wonderful person.
I loved Rev Joe Miles! He was as laid back as he was professional. The traditional Island rituals mixed with our wishes made it a perfect ceremony.
Rev. Miles delivered a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony. He has a gentle soul and character, and made us feel at peace and calm during the ceremony. We had an intimate wedding in Kula, Maui and he fit perfectly with the atmosphere we wanted to create.
We absolutely LOVED having Joe officiate for us. From the beginning he had a personal touch, helping us to customize our ceremony and vows, and he met us personally before the ceremony as well. What I found really impressive was that he did the entire ceremony by memory!! Including all our little personal touches!! He also did a great job guiding us since I had no idea what I was doing and we didn’t opt for a rehearsal before hand. Would highly highly recommend Joe!

Rev. Joe had a wonderful presence & made our ceremony very special. Many guests were moved to tears by how beautiful his words were. We’re very thankful for Rev. Joe’s hard work in preparing our ceremony since we mixed & matched his ceremony choices. He never even looked at notes, his words were all memorized but with a fresh delivery. He even gave us a nice keepsake after the ceremony. I’d definitely recommend him!
Having Rev. Joe Miles as your officiant is like having your favorite grandpa marry you. He was super accommodating and great to work with throughout the entire process. On the big day, you could just feel the genuine emotion that Joe felt, which really made everything feel that much more special. We had several guests comment on how great Joe was. Thank you Rev Joe for helping us celebrate our vow renewals. He was very helpful in offering advice in regards to locations when first planning it. Rev. Joe was very open to our suggestions on how we wanted the wording of our marriage blessing. He was very kind and was so great with our kids. He taught all of them how to blow the conch shell which was great fun for them. Thanks for making our event memorable for us.
Reverend Joe made our ceremony so special and memorable, we can’t thank him enough! Rev Joe started working with us a month before our wedding to create and customize exactly the ceremony we wanted. He sent us several drafts of the text with suggestions for different options and was always willing to make any changes to suit our preferences. The ceremony itself was beautiful and Rev Joe was genuine, engaging, and shared in our joy of the day! After the ceremony he really went above and beyond interacting with us and our guests and getting the kids in our party to smile for a group photo. The ceremony was beautiful. The vows we chose were a reflection of us, which made the whole experience even more meaningful to us. He customized our vows on a nice and watermarked paper. This was a nice surprise. His soothing and peaceful voice made us enjoy every word on the perfect setting. I would definitely be back for our vow renewals with him.

I think Rev Joe Miles was quite possibly our favorite part of our wedding! It was obvious that he wasn’t just there to do our ceremony – he personally cared so much about my husband and I and our story. He also helped me by surprising my parents with a vow renewal immediately after our ceremony. It was so special he took the time to hear all about my parents and made it his priority to make the renewal happen because he knew how important it was to us! The ceremonies were perfect, and he was extremely accommodating when it came to making any changes to the ceremonies. Someday when my husband and I do our own vow renewal we will absolutely be traveling to Maui so that Rev Joe Miles can perform the ceremony!
My husband and I have been together 6 years and were just married at Sugar beach in Maui 8/13/15. It was us and our two girls 4 and 6 first trip to Hawaii and decided to get married on the beach and Rev Joe was amazing. He was very patient in helping me decide what I wanted exactly. We wanted something very laid back and non religious and went with the very Hawaiian experience and I couldn’t be any happier. Hearing him speak you can feel it is straight from the heart and I feel extremely blessed that he was there on our special day… I had trouble accessing the temporary license and he was very punctual returning my calls and answering my questions and truly wanted to help. Crossing paths with Rev Joe made me really feel like there are genuine honest people left out there somewhere.. Rev Joe.. thank you from the bottom of my heart you truly are one in a million!!
Rev. Joe Miles performed our intimate beach elopement ceremony in November 2023 in Maui Hawaii and we truly can’t imagine having been married by anyone else. We wanted our ceremony to be a surprise so we did not preview what he had prepared for us in advance. When the big day came we were so blown away by how personal and full of love and light Joe’s ceremony was. It was like he had known us for years even after just having a few phone conferences and email exchanges leading up to the big day. He is genuinely a thoughtful and kind human being and those characteristics truly showed through in the ceremony he wrote for us. We wanted a traditional Hawaiian beach wedding ceremony with a few personal touches and Rev. Joe understood the assignment. From his choice of attire to the huge conch shell he blew into to start our ceremony everything was so perfect (and also made for some pretty cool pictures). We are so grateful for you Rev. Joe!! I truly hope our paths cross again in the future (a vow renewal perhaps!?) 12/10 would recommend Rev. Joe Miles for a wedding officiant.
We got married on August 8, 2015 at Kukahiko Estate and Reverend Joe Miles officiated our wedding. He was one of the three officiants suggested by our wedding planner and after checking his YouTube video, we knew we wanted to have him at our wedding. We are same sex couple, so we were looking for someone who would be willing and comfortable officiating for gay couples. He had no issue with it and he had so many suggestions in terms of incorporating different Hawaiian elements into the ceremony. He also worked diligently with us on the wording and how we wanted the ceremony to proceed. On the actual wedding day, some of our guests walked up to Reverend Joe to thank him for his words and the overall ceremony. He really took the time to engage the guests and made guests feel that they truly were a part of the ceremony. He didn’t do anything cheesy, but it was just his presence and soft-spoken and gentle voice that had a very calming and heart warming effect on people. He also has a good sense of humor and knew how to make us feel at ease when my husband and I were getting nervous. And everyone talked about how the conch shell blows were just perfect against the sea breeze and ocean background. Lastly, he even brought us a copy of the ceremony, which was so sweet and kind. And when he gave us big hugs after the ceremony, we really could feel that he really cared for those he marries and he genuinely felt happy for our marriage. If you are looking for an officiant in Maui, I highly recommend Reverend Joe! You should at least check out his YouTube video and website.
Reverend Joe Miles was spectacular, what a wonderful officiant to have on your special day. He is a very calm, warm, organized individual and if you are being married on the island of Maui evokes the culture and spiritualism of the Hawaiian islands, from his attire, to his wonderful conch blowing abilities, his singing and knowledge of the Hawaiian language, you feel the presence of the culture throughout your vows. We chose the Christian spiritual wedding ceremony for our special day and added the Hawaiian chant, Hawaiian blessing and the lei exchange, because that is where we were, on Ulua Beach, in Wailea, Maui surrounded by family, friends, faith, and our magnificent surroundings, the ocean, white sand, the surf, the palm trees, the lava rock, the trade winds blowing gently across the ocean and of course the sun! It was truly a ceremony we will cherish for years to come. And as an added plus, Reverend Miles puts together a beautiful package which contain all the words of your ceremony following the signing of your marriage license. It is a beautiful keepsake for the couple. We were truly blessed to have such a wonderful officiant for our wedding day and would highly recommend the reverend for anyone having a wedding.
